Scott Phillips

Meet Scott

Phillips FamilyScott Phillips has deep roots in New Castle County.  He was born and raised in NorthWilmington, graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Wilmington University.

Scott has a passion for serving the people of New Castle County.  As a full-time college student, Scott volunteered and then was hired as a counselor at a juvenile correctional facility.  He worked as a New Castle County Police Officer for 10 years. During his law enforcement career, Scott was a patrolman, investigator, S.W.A.T. member and F.O.P president.  He is also the co-founder of the Police Athletic League of Delaware. He currently works for the NCC Sheriff’s department where he has been a deputy sheriff for over 13 years.

Scott is deeply involved in our community.  Along with co-founding P.A.L. of Delaware, he is also a Charter Member of the Stephen Ministry at Aldersgate Church and has volunteered with the Nursing Home Ministry.  He has coached for the Brandywine Little League and performed with the Wilmington Drama League. Scott is also a published author, winning two Indie Book Awards for his suspense novels.

Scott lives in Wycliffe with his wife Maria and their chocolate lab Guinness.  They have five children and five grandchildren. Scott Phillips has committed his life to serving our communities.  He is a life-long Democrat, passionate about serving the citizens of New Castle County and the best choice to be our next New Castle County Sheriff.
